Okay, this self portrait (yes, that is supposed to be me
 ) has a rather interesting story behind it. My best friend and I work in the same store (different sections but still close to each other) and one day about fifteen minutes after I left for the day she was acosted by a customer. He kept trying to hug her and pat her on the shoulder even though she kept telling him "Do NOT touch me." (and she can be nasty when she wants to be but she was kind of in shock) Anyway, nothing terrible happened because he finally got the hint and left. When she told me I informed her (seriously) that if anything like that happened again while I was there I would come over and beat the snot out of the person. Then I told her that I'd come over wielding Hallmark Cards like ninja throwing stars (I work in the Hallmark Dept.) and the image stuck and so I drew it.  Took about 30 minutes to draw, +/- 2 and a half hours to color. I'm still not happy with my glasses.  Hallmark belongs to Hallmark. Duh. And I belong to myself. Oh and all the pictures on the cards are my photos so they belong to me too. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
